Censorship and you

Having watched the two Video Clips; Internet Censorship and Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales on internet censorship,  please write a reflection that addresses the following questions.

1) What does censorship mean to you?

2) Where have you seen examples of Censorship in real life?

3) How is censorship portrayed in Fahrenheit 451?

4) Is the act of censoring something necessarily good or bad? Explain.

Each of these questions should feature a detailed and thought out paragraph-answer.

Please include with your reflection an image (with a reference) from the following Google search which you feel compliments your thoughts.

    1) To me censorship means protecting or preventing people of seeing, or hearing something.
2)I have seen censorship in multiple places, for example, i have heard censorship on the radio, where the swear words are beeped out of the songs, i have also seen it on tv, where if there is nudity, it is blacked out.
3)censorship is portrayed whenever Montag goes to his job, the books that he burns are being censored.
4)In general censorship is a good idea, for young children, so they won't be exposed to such vulgarity at a young age. But for some people it is just annoying, if you are old enough to hear the swear words in songs or nudity in movies. BUt overall i am for censorship.

  9. To me, censorship means to censor books, television and anything else that can provide information. "To censor" is to change the way something is viewed. Like taking out the word "fuck" in a journal entry.
I have seen censorship on television a lot. I've seen interviews where one of the people talking says a word that is not appropriate and it's "beeped" out.
In Fahrenheit 451, books are being destroyed as an act of censorship. The government is trying to hide information by destroying where it comes from. This book was written before internet was invented so books are the main source for information. No one is aware of what is happening because books are being censored.
I think it's good for little children that are on the web, but the internet is a place that everyone goes to share their opinion. It's where people can do what they want. If censorship begins, people will lose their way of expressing themselves. I think it's a bad thing. And for the people that say children will be harmed by swear words or nude pictures, they shouldn't be on the internet in the first place. Blame the parents.

    1) to me in my own word censorship means hiding disrespectful things or what so ever from kids or people generally.
2)i have seen censorship in movies and in explicit rap songs.
3)He is burning books so he doesn’t want anyone else to see them or read them.
    4) censoring would be good for young childrens example for rap songs. maybe they say thing young kids might do that would harm them.
